From Siegel-Weil formula to 3d quantum gravity
I will introduce a new model of holographic duality, between a 3d topological gravity and an ensemble of 2d field theories. The 3d model is defined by a topological quantum field theory (TQFT) summed over all possible 3d manifolds. I will explain how this sum is defined and how it gives rise to the boundary ensemble. This model of holographic duality extends the conventional RCFT/Chern-Simons correspondence and connects it with classical error-correcting codes. When applied to Abelian Chern-Simons theory, this setup gives rise to various generalizations of the Siegel-Weil formula. I will describe the Abelian case in detail as well as the first non-Abelian generalizations. -
